Ages 5–9
In this gentle, joyful week of exploration, young campers will get to know the trees that share our land — noticing their shapes, textures, leaves, scents, and stories. We’ll practice simple tree identification, learning to recognize oak, fir, cedar, maple, and other local friends by their bark and leaves. Campers will gather fallen materials to create nature-inspired art and contribute to a collaborative mural celebrating the trees we’ve met along the way. Through stories, games, and quiet moments of listening, children will begin to understand trees not only as plants — but as living beings who shelter birds, hold soil, and shape the world around us. This camp nurtures curiosity, gratitude, and connection, helping children feel at home among the trees.
Ages 10–12
This week offers a rare and unforgettable chance for older campers to truly experience life among the branches. Through a partnership with Tree Climbing Planet (https://treeclimbingplanet.com), students will spend two hours each day learning rope systems, knots, safety practices, and ethical respect for trees — and then climbing into the canopy of a majestic oak tree under expert guidance. The rest of the day will focus on tree identification, ecology, and art inspired by forest forms and textures.
Campers will build confidence, patience, and body awareness as they learn technical skills — while also deepening their understanding of how trees support entire ecosystems. This camp blends adventure, science, and stewardship, offering students a grounded, unforgettable relationship with the living world above the forest floor.
(All climbing is professionally instructed, safety-centered, and deeply respectful of the tree and surrounding habitat.)
