Join Us For a Three-Day Thanksgiving Break Service Camp
Hours - 9am - 3pm
Ages - 7 to 11
This Thanksgiving break, we're taking Tree Folk on the road! Campers will spend three days exploring our community and discovering how much we can accomplish when we work together to care for the people and places around us.
Each day will bring a new adventure and a different way to give back. We'll load up a 15 passenger van and head into the community for hands-on projects that let kids make a real, tangible difference.
Day One: Share
We'll start by caring for our neighbors. Campers will collect donated food, head to the store to shop for additional supplies, make trail mix packs and handmade notes, and then travel around Portland stocking community free fridges and pantries.
Day Two: Care
We'll roll up our sleeves and care for a shared community space. Campers will take part in a kid-friendly cleanup or stewardship project, helping leave a local park or natural area better than we found it. We'll balance our hard work with plenty of time to explore and play together.
Day Three: Build
We'll finish the week by creating something that will keep giving long after camp is over. Campers will measure, sand, drill, paint, and work together to build a Little Free Library. We'll stock it with donated children's books, load it into the van, and install it at its new home in the community.
Throughout the three days, we'll talk about what it means to be part of a community and the many ways we can contribute—not just by giving things, but by giving our time, our effort, and our skills.
And, of course, between projects there will be games, exploration, outdoor adventures, creativity, laughter, and plenty of time to just be kids.
