Ages 5–9
In this creative, outdoor engineering camp, young builders will use sticks, stones, leaves, clay, and other natural materials to design and test their own inventions. From tiny fairy houses and twig bridges to water channels and wind-powered creations, campers will explore what it means to problem-solve, collaborate, and think like inventors. We’ll ask questions like: What makes something strong? How do you balance beauty and function? What can we learn from animals, trees, and the shapes found in nature? This week is joyful, imaginative, and gently structured — helping children see that engineering isn’t just nuts and bolts, but creativity, curiosity, and care for the world around us.
Ages 10–12
Older campers will dive deeper into the art and science of engineering through real-world design challenges inspired by nature. Students will plan, sketch, prototype, and refine structures such as bridges, shelters, and catapults using natural and repurposed materials. Along the way, they’ll explore concepts like stability, force, tension, load, and efficiency — while also learning how natural systems inspire human design. This camp emphasizes teamwork, iteration, creativity, and environmental awareness, helping campers build both technical skill and confidence as young problem-solvers and innovators.
